How to share a lesson to YouTube


Lesson videos are a helpful tool for the instructor either for drills or as a summary of the practice session. Swing Catalyst can share these lesson videos over YouTube to make it easier to play back for your students on a smart phone, tablet or computer.

1. Create / setup your YouTube account.

If you don't have a YouTube account already please go to: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/161805?hl=en and follow the instructions. Once you have created your account, log in to YouTube.


 Create a channel. https://www.youtube.com/create_channel


A channel is needed for you to be able to upload videos from Swing Catalyst.

 Press OK, I'm ready to upload. This will create your channel.


2. Setup Swing Catalyst

Start Swing Catalyst and go to Settings -> General.
Under YouTube Sharing insert your username or Google account and password.


You can check if everything works as excepted by pressing the test button.

It will check if you have a valid username and password and that it can connect to YouTube.
Once the test is passed, press save.


3. Record lesson
To record a new lesson, start a new Swing Analysis session with the student you are creating a lesson for.


Press "Record Lesson" and a new menu is exposed. Press "Record" and everything you see on the screen is now being recorded.



Pay attention to the timeline to keep track of how long your lesson is at any given time.  You can pause the lesson temporarily in order to draw lines, or make annotations by pressing the pause button.

Once you are satisfied with your lesson, press "Stop". This brings up the lesson preview dialog where you can preview the lesson you just recorded.

4. Upload to YouTube

 When the processing of your lesson is done, you can review the lesson then select "Share to YouTube" from the menu on the right in the Lesson Preview window.

Press "Share To YouTube".


If your student database is well organized Swing Catalyst will automatically fill in the right Name and E-mail address of the student.

Decide whether you want the video to be public, not listed of private and press "Upload". Upload will now start. If you want you can keep track of the progress by pressing "Upload Progress" in the main menu.
