What's New in 26.1
Version 26.1 adds an iPhone as a camera, the software in your language, and a better picture from your cameras.
Use an iPhone as a camera
Using a phone as a camera . An iPhone running the Swing Catalyst Cam app becomes a capture camera in your setup. Connect it over WiFi, or by cable when you want the best timing.
It records into the same take as your other cameras and plays back beside them. It needs iOS 17 or later.
The Mobile Camera card shows you everything about the phone at a glance: connection quality, battery, free space and temperature. Pairing is remembered, so a phone you have used before connects when you open the software. If it drops off the network, it comes back on its own.
You can connect several phones at once, each as its own camera.
Work in your own language
Changing the app language . The software reads in 36 languages, from Norsk bokmål to 日本語 to Português.
Change it in Settings, under General, and it changes straight away. By default it follows Windows.
A more natural picture
Camera colour and video rendering settings . For supported camera models, colours are corrected automatically, so skin looks like skin and a red shirt is the red it was in the room. Bright areas keep their detail instead of washing out.
Smoother video, and more of it
Playback and buffering settings . Turn on buffered playback and scrubbing through a swing is smooth, because frames around your position are decoded before you reach them.
Interlaced video files, such as recordings from older camcorders, play more smoothly. For the formats the software accepts, see Video files you can import and play .
Motion capture draws the skeleton and its visuals on mirrored video.
Sharper timing across your equipment
Clock synchronization is improved across capture devices. Devices agree more closely on when each moment happened, so a force reading lines up with the video frame it belongs to.
For cameras whose clock the software synchronizes, it warns you when timing accuracy is not good enough, before you record. Other devices are not measured this way, so they show no warning even when their timing is off.
Two baseball setups
Dual Batter’s Box . One installation serves a left-handed and a right-handed box, each with its own plates and calibration. Press F7 to switch between them from the capture toolbar.
The same works for golf with two balance plates: see Using two balance plates on one machine . Once either is set up, coaching with a Dual Batter’s Box and coaching with two balance plates cover running a session.
Force plates for pitching . Measure a delivery from three plates embedded in the mound, one at the rubber and two at the landing area, with the mound’s slope accounted for. Softball is supported too. The Bertec FP9090 and FP9090-15 plates are now available.
Less to do by hand
Auto export and auto import . Write every take to a folder as you record it, and pull takes in from a folder you nominate.
Key Metrics gained launch monitor metrics, metrics normalized to body weight, and metrics grouped by category.
